The Midwives Who Defied Pharaoh

Pharaoh’s command was cold as night: “Throw every newborn boy from sight.” Mothers trembled, tears fell like rain, Hearts in chains, suffering and pain. But Shiphrah and Puah would not obey, They held God’s law above the king’s way.

We will sing, we will stand, Holding hope with a trembling hand. When fear runs wild and rulers harm, Faith will guard us, faith will warm.
